As the number of mobile, smartphones, and tablets users are increasing hour-by-hour and not day by day, WORLDWIDE, it is very important for your business to have a mobile website. Your website should offer a user-friendly experience to the customers. And the main benefit of the mobile-optimized website is that you can attract targeted users and keep them engaged too.

A mobile-friendly website is optimized for viewing on a mobile device. Smartphone and tablet users can read and navigate your website easily. When you want to build a new website, there can be two options – desktop and mobile. Mobile sites are built specifically for mobile devices that can be easily accessible by any device with any OS as it will be fully responsive.

Mobile sites are the condensed version of desktop websites. It can be created for platforms like Android, iOS, windows, etc. As mobile websites are smaller than desktop websites, they can be accessed quickly via mobile phones.

Here are the advantages of Mobile Website Over Mobile Apps:

1. Improved user experience:

Improved User Experience

As mobile sites are specifically designed for hand-held devices, they can be accessed by mobile and smartphones easily. It improves user experience and satisfaction. They create a positive impression on the users. Mobile websites are faster than mobile apps, it is more user-friendly and someone who would have visited and surfed upon your website, would be much familiar with the mobile website too. Hence, a mobile website is a smart option.

2. Faster download speed:

As mobile sites are designed as per mobile standards, browsing becomes faster. The download speed is also optimal. Fun fact, a mobile website can also become a mobile app. This is one of the great options that can take off your workload and investment. As your mobile website can be more speedy and more effective in terms of surfing and downloading on your device, it can make your users browsing quick and speedy than an app (unless it is a mobile website app).

3. Brand identity:

Brand Identity

Mobile websites can help you stand out from the crowd. It provides you a distinct, contemporary brand identity to your business. Though, this is where the mobile app is slightly ahead of mobile websites, just slightly. As many of the users think of mobile apps as authentic and a rich and modern brand, users see mobile apps as a great brand identity. However, mobile websites are also not too behind. Also, if you need to change the design or section of your mobile website you can simply do it and publish and the changes will be immediately visible to everyone. On the other side, you need to throw the changes via updates, and users have to update their app to implement the changes and fixes.

5. Cost-effective option:

Cost Effective Option

Having a mobile website is much cheaper as compared to going for a mobile app. It is considered to be a cost-effective method for reaching the targeted users. A mobile website can access instantly from the browser of any phone with any OS. Apps though require the user to first download and install the app from a marketplace before start shopping or content can be viewed. This is the significant barrier and bold difference between a mobile website and a mobile app. That also means one has to invest in making a dedicated app more than a website. You need to choose wisely by going through your requirements, budget, and cost-effective earnings.

The mobile apps need to be downloaded by the user whereas mobile websites can be accessed without downloading. Mobile phones will overtake PCs and laptops very soon. So, mobile websites are the need of the hour. It can help you achieve the maximum ROI. If you want your business to grow rapidly, you can think of developing a responsive website (mobile website) for your business.

6. Easy to find online

It is an undeniable fact that websites are much easier to find, and the SEO of websites is easier than app store optimization. It gives you more opportunities to make your business known to people that are finding services relevant to yours.

Also, with the advancement of progressive web applications, you can expect mobile applications to get some blow on their popularity. Mobile websites similarly are much easier to find and do not require the user to download the app on their devices. With a well-optimized and responsive mobile website, you can achieve the same engagement as on a mobile application.

Another disadvantage of mobile applications is that the visibility of the application depends on a number of factors, especially on the manufacturer’s app stores. Meanwhile, mobile website pages can be displayed in the search result and listed in the industry-specific directories.

7. Shareability is more easeful

To download a product over your phone is now something that people don’t prefer. Not unless they know the product, understand its usability and find it very purposeful in their life. Meanwhile, people may share the app; they might still first go online to research about the app and the authenticity and relevance of the app to them and then make their decision.

Mobile websites are much easier to share. Technically they are just a URL, and people don’t really find any harm in visiting an authentic site with all the necessary certifications. Publishers can also direct users to the mobile website from a blog or a website or even a print, but an app cannot.

8. Lifecycle

Websites are evergreen entities of the internet. The average shelf life of an app is less than 30 days, according to some research. Unless your app is something truly unique and comes in user ideally daily, people are less likely to keep them on your phone.

This happens to the travel or hotel booking applications; people don’t keep them installed all the time but would rather download them or visit the website to make the booking. The mobile website thus costs you less and is always there online to serve the purpose.

9. Support and Maintenance

In numerous blogs and articles, we have mentioned the cost of app development, and it is established mobile app development is usually costly. But it doesn’t stop there.

shareability

The maintenance and other services to keep your apps up to date increase the operational cost of a business. It is very contrary to the fact that businesses use technology to reduce operational costs. Thus, mobile websites are a more cost-effective option compared to mobile applications.

Thanks for sharing your valuable Information. There are many differences between both of them. The most basic difference is that the Web App runs on the browser and mobile app runs on the device itself. Web Application needs active internet for it to work on your devices. Mobile App works without an active internet. Web Application cannot use the resources provided by the system (It can only use as much as provided to the browser) which mobile application can use as much as it requires. With these differences, it also means that those are their USPs and business must analyze their requirements before selecting a right app development approach or can have an expert on board to help them with the analysis.
