Events Manager - Magento 2 Extension

Introduction

Installation

If you purchased an extension from Magento Marketplace then click on the How to Install Magento 2 Extension to install the extension.


If you purchased an extension from Solwin Site then follow the below steps to install the extension.

Installation Process

Note: Please take a backup of your all Magento files and database before installing or updating any extension.

Download the extension file:
  1. Download the Events Manager extension .ZIP file from solwininfotech.com using your Solwin Infotech website account.
  2. Extract the .ZIP file which contains another .ZIP files.
  3. If you have purchased the extension for the Community Edition, then you will see the extension .ZIP file for Magento 2.1.x, Magento 2.2.x, Magento 2.3.x, and Magento 2.4.x version.
    If you have purchased the extension for the Enterprise Edition, then you will see the extension .ZIP file for Magento 2.1.x, Magento 2.2.x and Magento 2.3.x version.
Extension Installation

For Magento 2 Community Edition,

  1. If you are using Magento 2.1.x then you need to extract solwin-ourevents-m2-2.1.x.zip file.
    If you are using Magento 2.2.x then you need to extract solwin-ourevents-m2-2.2.x.zip file.
    If you are using Magento 2.3.x, Magento 2.4.x then you need to extract solwin-ourevents-m2.zip file.

For Magento 2 Enterprise Edition,

  1. If you are using Magento 2.1.x then you need to extract solwin-ourevents-m2-EE-2.1.x.zip file.
    If you are using Magento 2.2.x then you need to extract solwin-ourevents-m2-EE-2.2.x.zip file.
    If you are using Magento 2.3.x then you need to extract solwin-ourevents-m2-EE.zip file.

Following 2 to 6 steps are the same for Community and Enterprise edition.

  1. Copy the app folder and paste it into your magento ROOT directory.

  2. Run upgrade command as specified : php bin/magento setup:upgrade.
  3. Run deploy command as specified : php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy -f.
  4. Clear the cache either from the admin panel or command line php bin/magento cache:clean.
  5. Now, you can see the Solwin menu in admin panel. Please go to Solwin -> Events Manager -> Configuration and select Enable to Yes.
  6. Change/Set all other options as per your requirements and save settings.

NOTE : Make sure the installation is done from under the FTP administrator account. Otherwise make sure to set 775 permissions to the store root directory after the extension is deployed.

Information

Events Manager Magento 2 extension helps the store owners to display the latest events to customers/visitors on the website. In the front-end, it has an “Our events” link on the top header/footer section. The users can list and view the event's details by clicking on the link (Header/Footer). The Events Manager Magento 2 extension providesa way to present customers with updated events in the company. An events listing page displays a list of all the events according to date with all events details like event title, description, events photos, event date, etc. and it provides 2 different types of layout for listing, List Layout, and Grid Layout.

In the admin control panel from Solwin >> Event Manager >> Configuration menu, the Events Manager Magento 2 extension allows the store owners to enable or disable the module in the store and provide more configuration options for event manager extension.

  • Events List Url: Set event list Url.
  • Events Url Prefix: Set Url prefix.
  • Events Url Suffix: Set Url suffix.
  • Select Layout: List View | Grid View with Two Column.

  • Events Limit In Sidebar Block: Set events limit for sidebar block.
  • Events Not Found Text: Enter text for events not found or available.

How To Configure

To view events list, go to Solwin >> Event Manager >> Manage Events.

Click on Add New Events button to add new event details like

  • Title: Enter the event title.
  • URL Key: Enter the Url key.
  • Store View: Select the store view.
  • URL: Enter the Url of the event.
  • Venue: Enter venue detail.
  • Description: Enter a full description of the event.
  • Event Start Date: Select the event start date.
  • Event End Date: Select the event end date.
  • Status: Enable | Disable.

  • Upload Banner: Upload the banner image for the event.
  • First Image: Upload the first image for the event.
  • Second Image: Upload the second image for the event.

  • Entry Fee: Set entry the fee.
  • Contact Name: Enter the contact name.
  • Email: Enter the contact email address.
  • Phone: Enter the contact phone number.

  • Meta Keyword: Enter the meta keyword.
  • Meta Description: Enter the meta description.

Widget

Our Event widget

1. Click on Content >> Pages.

2. Click on the "Add New Page" button and create a new page or open the existing page.

3. Go to the “Content” section and click on the “Insert Widget...” tab.

  • Widget Type: Select widget type “Our Events widget”.
  • Title: Enter title for widget section.

How To Use

On the front-end, customers can view the events with the event title, event description, venue detail, event date, etc. With 2 different layout.

Once customer clicks on “Read More” button to view full description like event title, entry fee, event description, venue detail, event date, contact details, event gallery, etc. Also, display the latest events in the sidebar block.
